This setting also affects the date and time formats used, for example, in the
calendar.

Automatic keyguard
to set the keypad to lock automatically after a certain
length of time when the phone is in standby mode.
To activate the automatic keyguard, select
On
and set the time after which the
keypad is locked. To deactivate the automatic keyguard, select
Off
.

Note: When Keyguard is on, calls may be possible to the emergency number
programmed into your phone (e.g. 112 or other official emergency number). Key
in the emergency number and press
. The number is displayed only after you
have keyed in its last digit.

Security keyguard
to set the phone to ask for the security code when the
keypad lock is opened. Note that activating this function does not protect your
phone data from PC Suite access.
To activate the security keyguard, key in the security code, press
OK
and select
On
. To deactivate the security keyguard, select
Off
.

Welcome note
to create a note that is shown briefly when the phone is
switched on. Key in the note and save it by pressing
Save
. To delete the note,
press
Options
and select
Delete
.

Operator selection
to set the phone to automatically select a cellular operator
that is available in your area (
Automatic
) or to select the desired operator from
a list (
Manual
).
The selected operator must have a roaming agreement with your home
network. If no such agreement exists,
No network access
will be displayed and
you must select another operator.
The phone stays in manual mode until automatic mode is selected or another
SIM card is inserted into the phone.
•
Network mode
to set the phone to automatically select the GSM or UMTS
network (
Dual network
) or set the phone to use the GSM network.
If you select
Dual network
, the phone selects a GSM or UMTS network
automatically according to the network parametres and the roaming
agreements between the network operators.
If you select GSM, the phone only tries to use the selected network. If the
selected network is not available in your location, you need to change this
setting.
After changing the setting, the phone switches itself off and back on.
Warning: If you set the phone to use only the GSM network, you will
not be able to make any calls, including emergency calls, or use other
